GREATER ELDORADOPARK YOUTH INNOVATION HUB

The GEPYIH was established in 2013 in accordance with the NPO Act of 71 of 1997. Our mandate is to coordinate and implement the delivery of education through training and development strategies for the youth and community of Eldorado Park including Kliptown, Devland, Freedom Park, Slovo & Klipspruit and Soweto at large. In an effort to combat the challenges that affect the community and ensuring sustainability, the GEPYIH is now powered by E-Tech Varsity in ensuring that the required standards are met and the youth are skilled through accredited courses and recognized qualifications which contribute to the creation of employment opportunities especially for those previously disadvantaged. We are passionate about providing enabling opportunities and mentorship for youth progression, sustainability, and prosperity in an efficient and professional manner. Our programs aim to raise the skills levels of youth and the community, create a healthy balance between supply and demand in the labor market, provide diverse, flexible routes for education and training, offer various career paths, and continuously improve the quality of training provided. We uphold values of transparency, fairness, integrity, innovation, alleviation, diversity, and perseverance. The GEPYIH's organizational structure includes a Board of Directors, Centre Manager, Project Coordinator, Facilitator, Administrator, and Youth Desk who manage the day-to-day activities at the Centre. Our accredited programs through Services SETA and MOU with MERSETA aim at alleviating the Centre to embark on the artisan trade qualification relevant to the targeted community. We also offer programs focusing on advice and referral, social programs, welding practical training, business/entrepreneurial programs, and upholstery practical programs. Our target groups include children, youth, women, older persons, persons with disabilities, and persons with HIV/AIDS. We aim to reach out to vulnerable communities, conduct short seminars/workshops, and create awareness campaigns for advocacy. Additionally, we network with various service providers and engage in funded programs to address the challenges faced by the youth and create sustainable livelihood. Accredited training ensures the quality and standardization of training, and we also encourage SMME development and support. Our ultimate goal is to foster an environment where entrepreneurs can strive and grow, ultimately improving the sustainability of the organizations through networking and referrals.
